Shrewsbury's Danny Williams wins gold in Glasgow
Shrewsbury’s Danny Williams has won gold for England at under-73kgs Judo after beating New Zealand's Adrian Leat at the Commonwealth Games.

The 25-year-old was called up just a week before the games after Ben Fletcher sustained an injury.
The win is William’s biggest victory of his career so far and comes after he was forced to leave the competitive circuit for six months following an injury to his left elbow in January 2013.
Williams, recorded an early Waza-ari score to take control of the contest and showed good composure. He admitted it had all been an amazing, if testing, experience.
Commenting on the win, Williams said: “This feels incredible, the crowd were phenomenal, we could have been in England, everyone seemed to get behind us.”
