T-Party set to entertain the crowds in Telford today
Telford & Wrekin Council’s free family fun day and cultural extravaganza, T-Party, is set to entertain the crowds in the Town Park today.

Telford Town Park will be filled with arts, crafts, music, street theatre, poetry, storytelling, acrobatics, puppetry, sports and leisure activities, a funfair and food and craft markets.
There will be hilarious street theatre provided by Granny Turismo who last year zoomed around on their shopping trolleys entertaining the crowds. They are back by popular demand, as well as the Flying Buttresses.
This year the park will also see a magician on a bike and a walking story teller, Story Potato King.
The new Southwater library will also host activities tomorrow, including a felt making workshop. Anyone at the new library will be spell bound by storytelling magician Barrington Powell.
For a unique experience, there will be the chance to enter the jaws of a giant silver whale to be serenaded by a lovesick submariner at the top of the Arena.
In the Arena, there will be rows of market stalls selling tasty local food and interesting crafts, make and play workshops, a dry ski slope for tobogganing and ski displays. The Arena will also host a 6m high rig with acrobatic displays from the Lovely Bugs.
New for 2014 is a fun fair in the Telford International Centre car park, next to the Arena.
Councillor Liz Clare, Telford & Wrekin Council cabinet member for leisure services and culture, said: “We’re really delighted to be bringing T-Party back to Telford Town Park.
“T-Party’s nearly here now and the Town Park is ready to welcome everyone for a fun day out tomorrow.
“Last year’s event showcased our amazing Park and showed what a great location it is for the borough.
“The Town Park has already been busy with families enjoying the sunshine and the new facilities this summer, including the high ropes and water play.
“T-Party is a great day out for all of the family and best of all - it’s free
“This year’s T-Party event will also take in the new Southwater lake area and Southwater One which is proving a popular destination.”
T-Party is sponsored by Ricoh and Greenhous who have helped to make the day possible.
