Police appeal for help in finding missing Ellesmere man

Ian Venner, who is 48 years-old, was last seen at his home address in Ellesmere at 11.30am on Tuesday 2 September, 2014.

It is thought that he may be in the north Wales coastal area.

He is described as about 5’10” tall, of broad build, with receding hair which is gray at the temples, clean shaven and with an English accent.

Mr Venner wears glasses and when last seen he was thought to be wearing a Help for Heroes wristband and a few other leather bracelets, a black and white striped Barbarians rugby shirt and blue jeans. He may also have a black Gloucester Rugby Club overnight holdall.

Police are growing increasingly concerned for Mr Venner’s welfare and would like to speak to him to ensure that he is safe and well.

Officers are asking people to report any sightings of anyone matching his description to West Mercia Police on the non-emergency number 101.

Update:
Ian Venner, aged 48, from Ellesmere, Shropshire, has been found safe and well near Wrexham, in North Wales.

West Mercia Police would like to thank all who shared the appeal.
