Detectives are appealing for the public's help to trace a Telford man who is wanted for recall to prison.

Telford man wanted for recall to prison

James Delaney has been recalled to prison by the probation service for breaking the terms of his licence following his release on 5 December 2013.

The 27-year-old has served time in prison after being convicted of robbery in the Birmingham area in 2011.

Sergeant Kevin Jones said: "We are keen to trace James Delaney as soon as possible and would ask the public not to approach him if they see him, but to call police.

"Delaney has a number of connections to the Telford area and the Small Heath area of Birmingham.

"If you have any information regarding his whereabouts, we would urge you to contact us.

"Delaney has breached his licence conditions and although officers are actively looking for him, we would appreciate any information from the public that could assist us.

"Mr Delaney is aware that he has been recalled to prison by the National Probation Service, his failure to surrender himself will only result in his imprisonment being extended when found. Anyone found to be assisting Mr Delaney faces the risk of prosecution."

Anyone who spots Delaney should call West Mercia Police by dialling 101. Please quote incident number 529S of 23 September 2014. Alternatively, you can give information anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
