Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault that left a woman needing hospital treatment for serious face and head injuries.

Woman attacked in Wellington Nightclub

The assault occurred at Pussycats nightclub in Wellington, Telford between 3am and 3:30am on Sunday 31 August 2014.

The 22-year-old woman from Telford was on the first floor of the nightclub in a raised area when she started talking to a woman she did not know. They were then joined by two other women, who were also not known to the victim. The three women then started to punch the victim, causing her to fall to the floor where they proceeded to assault her.

The victim sustained serious injuries to her face and head, requiring hospital treatment and surgery due to the severity of her injuries.

The description of the offenders is very limited but it is understood that there were a number of other people present at the time.

Any witnesses are urged to contact West Mercia Police on non-emergency number 101 quoting incident 0156 of 31st August 2014.

Alternatively you can give information without giving your name by calling Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 or by visiting their website www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
