Four rescued from flat following bin fire in Oswestry
A family of four were rescued from a first floor flat following a fire in Oswestry during the early hours of this morning.

Firefighters from Oswestry and Ellesmere were called to the fire just off Cross Street at 2.18am this morning.
Bins located in the Clawdd Du alley outside the property were set on fire deliberately, the burning bins stopped the family from leaving their home.
Fire crews used two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet, one covering jet and a ladder to rescue the family and put out the fire.
Insp Rik Klair, of the area’s Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “I would like to reassure the public that we have increased police patrols of the area. I also ask for residents and business owners to be vigilant and keep their wheelie bins locked. Our Criminal Investigation Department are conducting a thorough investigation into this incident with a priority to protect people from harm and bring the offender responsible to justice.”
Anyone who saw somebody acting suspiciously in the area is asked to call police on 101, quoting incident 33S of Thursday 2 October. Alternatively, the independent charity, Crimestoppers, can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
