Man rescued from the River Severn in Shrewsbury

A man was rescued from the River Severn in Shrewsbury this afternoon.

Man rescued from the River Severn in Shrewsbury

The rescue happened near the Pig Trough in Coton Hill at just before 2pm.

Three fire appliances were mobilised from Baschurch and Shrewsbury, crews used a short extension ladder and small gear to rescue the man.

An ambulance crew and police also attended the scene of the incident.
