Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault on Saturday evening in Ketley.

Two men attacked with baseball bat at Telford petrol station

The attack occurred at Shell Service Station, Holyhead Road in Ketley at about 5.15pm on Saturday 11 October 2014.

Two men, a 30-year-old and a 33-year from Telford, were injured in the assault. Their car, a Seat Toledo, was parked on Holyhead Road near to the car wash, opposite Shell Service Station. They became involved in an altercation with approximately four to six Asian men who got out of a dark coloured vehicle.

The men attacked the victims with what is described as a baseball bat, and damaged the victim’s car by smashing the two rear passenger windows, before getting back into their vehicle and escaping towards Wellington.

The 30-year-old victim sustained major injuries and was taken by ambulance to Princess Royal Hospital in Telford for treatment. The 33-year-old sustained minor injuries that did not require hospital treatment.

Anyone who saw the altercation at Shell Service Station or the car wash on the opposite side of the road is urged to contact PC Michael Osborn at West Mercia Police on non-emergency number 101 quoting incident 0529 of 11 October 2014.

Alternatively you can give information without giving your name by calling Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 or by visiting their website www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
