Organisers say Ludlow Arts Festival won’t be returning
Organisers of the Ludlow Arts Festival today revealed that next year’s event will not go ahead and there are no current plans for the festival to return.
The annual Ludlow Shakespeare & Arts Festival which takes place across a fortnight from the end of June draws well known names and large crowds to the south Shropshire town.
In 2011 the festival suffered from financial problems but it continued and this summer hosted one of its best line-ups for some time.
Performances included As You Like It starring John Challis and Eric Potts, Ruby Turner, stand-up comedian Jim Davidson, Marty Wilde, Ken Dodd, Ray Mears, Bellowhead and Sooty.
But despite high ticket sales organisers have said it was not commercially viable.
