Man suffers broken jaw during assault in Shrewsbury

The man was assaulted outside the Beach Nightclub in Shrewsbury after an argument broke out between a group of friends at around 3.35am on Saturday 25 October.

It is believed that the victim was attempting to calm the situation down when he was punched in the face and knocked to the floor before being punched for a second time as he stood up.

The offender was not known to the victim or the group and has been described as white, 6ft 3ins tall and was wearing a bright green Adidas hooded top.

The victim sustained a broken jaw and required surgery after the incident.

PC Paul Frank of Shropshire Police said: “This was a violent attack which resulted in significant injuries, we are therefore keen to ensure the offender is apprehended and brought to justice as quickly as possible. We ask anyone who may have seen the incident to contact police immediately.”

Anyone who has any further information is asked to contact police on the non-emergency number 101 and quote the incident reference 99 of 25th October. Information can also be passed on anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their website www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
