Police have arrested and charged a man in connection with two incidents of robbery, and also assault and burglary in Shrewsbury.

The man was arrested and charged with the robbery on Monday 3 November at Snooty Fox jewellers in Wyle Cop at about 2pm.
He was also charged for assaulting a police officer on Kingsland Bridge, Burglary of a premise he subsequently ran into, robbery on Mount Pleasant road, attempt theft of a handbag and theft of a mobile phone from a shop on Castle Street on Friday 26 October.
Troy Hevingham, 38, from High street, Clive, Shrewsbury, appeared at Shrewsbury Magistrates Court yesterday, and will now appear at Shrewsbury Crown Court on 17 November 2014.
Chief Inspector Tom Harding from Shropshire police said: "The man went into Snooty Fox demanding money from the shop assistant.
"He left the shop with cash before making off towards Kingsland Bridge where he was challenged by a police officer.
"He subsequently assaulted the officer and made his way into a house alongside the river where he was challenged by the home owner before jumping in the river. Police officers lining the riverbank arrested the man for a number of offences including a robbery at Mount Pleasant on Tuesday 28 October were cash was again taken following the attempted theft of a handbag from a member of the public in Morrisons car park shortly before.
"I'd like to praise the good response of officers who attended the scene and flooded the riverbank to make sure we got the man out safely and secured arrest. It was following the excellent work of PC Portman that Mr Hevingham was challenged and subsequently arrested."
