Youths who crossed railway lines traced following appeal
Two youths who were seen to repeatedly cross the tracks at Craven Arms railway station have been identified following a media appeal.
Following an appeal by British Transport Police last month the pair were identified and interviewed by investigating officers.
The incident took place at 5.05pm on Saturday, 20 September. Both of the people involved were seen to repeatedly walk across the railway, crossing from one platform to the other at Craven Arms railway station, before one of them ran in front of a high speed train which was passing through the station. The driver of the train was forced to apply its emergency brakes as a result of the incident. A search of the area was carried out but no one was found.
The 15-year-olds have been reported for malicious obstruction and may be summoned to court at a later date.
PC Dave Hall said: “I would like to thank the media for their assistance in extensively publishing this appeal as well as the members of public who came forward with valuable information.”
