Burst water main causes flooding to road in Shrewsbury

Hereford Road was closed as engineers from Severn Trent and police were at the scene of the burst at the junction of Roman Road and Upper Road.

Water was seen streaming down Roman Road onto Hereford Road close to the BP garage.

The Clay Oven and Rainbow Connection Hair Salon has water lapping at their doorways.

A Severn Trent spokesperson said: "Our teams are out on site now and will work around the clock to get this pipe fixed and everything back to normal as quickly as possible.

"We’re hoping that most customers will have their supply back on in the next few hours."
