Woman injured after being trampled by horse in Whitchurch

A woman has been seriously injured after being trampled on by the horse she had fallen off in Whitchurch.

The incident happened on Black Park Road at 12.15pm yesterday.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said:

“Upon assessment ambulance staff and the medic found she had sustained a suspected fractured leg and a back injury. The woman was given pain relief before being carefully immobilised to prevent further injury.

“Once stabilised, ambulance staff conveyed the woman to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital by land for further emergency treatment.”

An ambulance, a community paramedic and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford with a MERIT trauma doctor on board attended the scene.
