Police appeal for Shrewsbury assault victim to come forward

A witness called West Mercia Police to tell them about an incident they witnessed along Crowmere Road in Shrewsbury between 12:35pm and 12:40pm on Monday 5 January 2015.

The witness told Police that they saw two black men chasing a white man down the road; one of the black men has been holding a metal bar and attacked the victim with it. The two black men have then headed towards Racecourse Crescent after the victim escaped over a gate.

A Shrewsbury Police spokesperson said, "We received a call from a witness who told us about the violent attack they had witnessed; to date the victim has not yet come forward.

"If this was you, or you know who the victim might be, we would urge you to come forward and speak to us by calling 101 quoting incident243s of Monday 5 January."
