Telford & Wrekin Council is carrying out a public consultation on a neighbourhood Development Plan covering the next 16 years for the parish of Waters Upton.

Public consultation on Waters Upton Neighbourhood Plan

The plan has been prepared by Waters Upton Parish Council to establish a long term plan for the village and help deliver the local community’s aspirations and needs.

It sets out key objectives and local planning policies which would help in determine planning applications in the Waters Upton area.

It will cover the period up tol 2031 and the plan together with supporting documentation can be viewed at www.telford.gov.uk/neighbourhoodplanning

Paper copies can also be inspected at First Point Telford, Southwater One in Telford Town Centre and the council’s Business and Planning First Point at Wellington Civic & Leisure Centre and Waters Upton Parish Centre.

Representations and feedback on the contents of the plan can be made up to no later than 5pm on March 6.

Comments can be made either online or in writing by post to Business & Development Planning, Telford & Wrekin Council, PO Box 457, Telford TF2 2FH or by emailing developmentplans@telford.gov.uk

Councillor Charles Smith, cabinet member for Housing, Development and Borough Towns, said: “Waters Upton Parish Council has worked closely with its local community to produce a plan which reflects local views on future development in the parish.

“The consultation process over the next few weeks will give local people an opportunity to express their opinion on a plan which will inform on the development of their area for more than a decade ahead.”
