West Mercia Police have released the image of a man wanted in connection with the rape of a woman in Wellington.

24-year-old Roumel Haylette is being sought by police and anyone who has any information as to his whereabouts is urged to get in contact.

The incident is thought to have taken place in the Wellington area of Telford in August 2014. He is also believed to have stolen £2,000 worth of jewellery from the victim.

Haylette is described as a black, approximately 5ft 6 tall with a bald head and of a muscular build. At the time of the incident he is thought to have had a small goatee beard and a gold top tooth. He also has a tattoo on his chest which says 'fearless' and is thought to have links to the Handsworth area of Birmingham.

Detective Inspector Melanie Paley, who is leading the investigation, said: "This individual is being traced in connection with a serious crime and it is important he is apprehended as soon as possible. Haylette is thought to be a dangerous individual and I would urge you not to approach him. If anyone has any information in relation to his whereabouts please get in touch with police as soon as possible."

Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on the non-emergency 101 number quoting the incident reference 334s of the 17th August 2014.

Information can also be passed on anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their website: www.crimestoppers-uk.org
