Burst water pipe causes supply issues in SY3 area of Shrewsbury

A burst water pipe on Roman Road in Shrewsbury is causing supplies to be off or at low pressure for some homes and businesses in the SY3 postal code area this morning.

Severn Trent sent a team to the burst early this morning, they are working fix the pipe.

A section of Roman Road at the Longden Road junction is currently closed whilst repairs take place, a local diversion is in operation.

A Severn Trent spokesperson said: "We know how difficult it is to have no water, especially at this time of day when you’re trying to get ready for work and school, and we’re sorry for the inconvenience this may be causing. We’d like to reassure our customers that we’re doing everything we can to get the water supplies back on as soon as we can.

"Again we’d like to apologise for any disruption this may cause."

Severn Trent recently announced they are bringing forward a £1 million scheme to improve the water pipes in the area following several bursts in the area since December.

Update: Severn Trent say that all customers should now have water back through their taps, although some people may be experiencing lower pressure.
