A woman has been taken to hospital following a fire involving a chip pan at a home in Telford this lunchtime.

The elderly woman was taken to hospital suffering from burns and smoke inhalation.

Firefighters and an ambulance crew were called to the terraced property at Langley Fold in Dawley at 12.20pm.

Three fire appliances were mobilised from Telford Central, Tweedale and Wellington.
