Police have released CCTV images of a man they wish to speak to in connection with a robbery which took place at the Co-operative petrol station on Station Road in Minsterley last night.

Staff threatened during robbery at petrol station in Minsterley

A man approached the tills and demanded money whilst threatening a member of staff with a bladed weapon at around 11.45pm. The cashier handed over the contents of the till, and the offender put the cash into a bag before leaving the store.

The man was described as around 5'8" and of slim build. He was wearing dark footwear, dark tracksuit bottoms with a white logo near the left pocket, a dark jacket with a distinctive white vertical zipper, white waistband and white cuffs. The jacket possibly had a grey hood or was being worn over a grey hooded top. He was wearing a dark coloured, apparently home-made balaclava and large light and dark coloured gloves. He was holding an orange Sainsbury's bag and a knife which is described as a bread knife with a dark handle, approximately 6" long and a blade approximately 12" long.

"We would urge anyone who may recognise the man in the pictures, or who may have information about the robbery to contact police on 101 quoting incident number 777s of 12 June.

"Alternatively contact the independent charity crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via the website www.crimestoppers-uk.org"
