Boyzone and Alesha Dixon to perform in Telford tonight

Thousands of Boyzone fans will be in Telford tonight as the popular Irish boy band perform a concert at the QEII Fields In Trust Town Park Arena.

Singer and television presenter Alesha Dixon will be supporting the band and is set to perform her latest single The Way We Are as part of her set.

Telford-based band The Rooz will also be performing on stage.

Since their debut in November 1993, Boyzone has released twenty one singles and seven albums. The have achieved twenty five million record sales, performed hundreds of gigs and twenty two years later, they are still going strong.

Speaking ahead of the performance Boyzone’s Ronan Keating said “We love the chance to play outdoors through the summer so I’m looking forward to a great night in Telford.”

Shane added “The crowd in the Midlands are always superb. It will be like ‘Coming Home’!”

Organisers are promising fans a night to remember with fans travelling from across the region to see their idols perform in their only show in the West Midlands this summer.

Councillor Shaun Davies, Telford & Wrekin Council’s cabinet lead for Commercial Projects, said: “With over 6,000 tickets claimed for the concert so far, this is set to be Telford’s most successful concert to date. Since it was announced back in February, the demand for ticket from people both in Telford and beyond has been huge. Now the day is here, we can’t wait to welcome everyone to our Town Park Arena and show them just what kind of a show Telford can host!”

Full priced tickets cost £35 for adults and £30 for children. The Telford Loyalty Card early bird offer has now ended however, people can still get a £5 discount off both adult and child tickets.
