A man from Telford has been named as one of the victims who died after lightning strikes on the Brecon Beacons at the weekend.

Jeremy Prescott, 51, from Telford was today named as one of the victims by Dyfed-Powys Police.
Mr Prescott, a youth worker from Telford, was was manning a checkpoint in a Duke of Edinburgh’s Award activity when he was killed.
A family spokesman said: “We are obviously devastated to lose Jez, who was both a beloved husband and father, in such sudden and shocking circumstances.
“He was doing something he loved in a place he loved and had said only 10 minutes before the incident happened that he was glad he was up on the mountain and that it was a lovely day.”
A spokesman for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award said: “We were shocked and saddened to hear of the death of Jeremy Prescott on the Brecon Beacons in such tragic circumstances. Our thoughts are with Jeremy’s family at this very sad time.”
Two people died and two others were being treated in hospital after two separate strikes on Sunday. One has now been discharged from hospital.
A major rescue operation was launched following the lightning strikes.
The fatal lightning strikes were freak accidents that had not been matched in 30 years, said Mark Jones, of the Brecon Beacons Mountain Rescue Team.
