Appeal for couple who prevented a robbery in Shrewsbury
Police officers in Shrewsbury are appealing for help in tracing a couple who helped prevent a robbery over the weekend.

At around 3am on Saturday three unknown men attempted to rob a lone man on the Dana footbridge in Shrewsbury. As this was happening, a man and woman entered the footbridge together which caused the three men to flee. The victim, a 20-year-old local man, was not injured during the incident nor was any of his property taken.
Police are trying to trace the couple who may be unaware that they helped prevent a crime taking place and urge them to call police on 101, quoting 126 of the 8 August.
Following the incident, two 17-year-old boys and an 18-year-old man from Shrewsbury have been arrested on suspicion of assault with intent to rob personal property. They have been bailed until Thursday 3 September, pending further enquiries.
