Firefighters called to fire at former Claddagh Bar and Hotel in Oakengates
Firefighters are this afternoon at the scene of a fire at the former Claddagh Bar and Hotel in Oakengates.
The fire broke out in the basement of the former venue in Lion Street, Oakengates at around 2.30pm.
Eight fire appliances including the Incident Command Unit were mobilised from Albrighton, Shrewsbury, Telford Central, Tweedale and Wellington.
Fire service personnel wearing Breathing Apparatus extinguished the fire using, two hose reel jets, one main jet and one covering jet.
Lion Street was closed to traffic for a time but has now reopened.
