Two new developments by The Wrekin Housing Trust will be complete shortly, providing a total of 58 new homes in Telford.

Two new housing developments near completion in Telford

Churchill Drive in Ketley Bank, and Chillcott Gardens in Madeley are both nearing completion, and residents will soon be able to move into their new homes.

Altogether, the sites will provide 47 houses, eight apartments and three bungalows; all going some way to meeting the need for affordable homes in Telford.

Both sites are in great locations, with Churchill Drive being close to both Ketley and Oakengates, and Chillcott Gardens within walking distance of Madeley town centre. The houses and bungalows will all have private gardens and all properties have allocated off-street parking.

The Ketley Bank site will be complete this week and residents will start to move in shortly, with the Madeley site properties being completed from the end of this month.

Both sites have provided opportunities for apprentices to work alongside skilled professionals and learn the construction trade, as the Trust requires developers they work with to provide apprenticeship opportunities, and they have also boosted the local economy by using local suppliers and tradespeople.

Steve Swann, Development Manager for the Trust, said of the new homes: “What’s great about these two sites is they provide a mixture of housing types and are both high quality sustainable developments which will provide safe, secure homes for families and individuals in Telford, as well as providing new jobs and opportunities in the area.”

Combined, the development of these new homes will generate almost 12 million pounds to the economy and create 130 jobs.
