RJAH patients urged to share experiences at pre-inspection events
Past and present patients of the Oswestry Orthopaedic Hospital are being invited to give feedback on the care they have received.

Past and present patients of the Oswestry Orthopaedic Hospital are being invited to give feedback on the care they have received.
The hospital, which is run by The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (RJAH), is due to be inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) next month.
The CQC have organised two listening events in the county – one in Oswestry and one in Shrewsbury – to give members of the public a chance to speak to the inspectors ahead of the inspection, which will take place from Tuesday 6 October to Thursday 8 October.
Jayne Downey, Director of Nursing and Service Delivery at RJAH, said: “The inspectors will of course be talking to doctors and nurses, managers and patients at the hospital. But it is vital that they also hear the views of the people who have experienced the care we have provided over the course of the last year or so, or anyone who wants to share information about us.
“The feedback they get at these listening events will help them focus on the things that really matter to people who depend on our services.
“We would encourage anyone who has used any of our services in recent months to share their experience with the CQC at these listening events, or by writing to them, emailing them or calling them in advance of the inspection.
“Our patients and staff are our top priority and we will aim to show the inspectors how providing the very best care is at the heart of everything we do.”
The first listening event will take place at the Wynnstay Hotel in Oswestry on Wednesday 30 September. The second will be at the Central Shrewsbury Baptist Church on Monday 5 October. Both events will run from 6pm to 7.30pm.
The inspection team will be made up of CQC inspectors as well as clinical and other experts, including trained members of the public. A full report of the inspectors’ findings will be published by the CQC later in the year. The Trust will be given one of the following ratings: Outstanding, Good, Requiring improvement, Inadequate.
Those who would like to share their views can also contact the CQC on 03000 616161, by email to enquiries@cqc.org.uk, at their website www.cqc.org.uk/contact-us or by sending a letter to CQC, Citygate, Gallowgate, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 4PA.
