A motorcyclist suffered facial injuries and an injury to his arm following a collision involving a car near Shrewsbury this morning.

The incident happened on the B4380 outside the Mytton and Mermaid at around 8.30am.

West Midlands Ambulance Service made the casualty comfortable before transferring the 20-year-old to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.

The road was closed in both directions following the incident.
