War medal stolen in Telford burglary

A 2010 Afghanistan war medal and a Diamond Jubilee medal have been reported as stolen in a burglary in Telford.

The burglary took place in Hamilton Road, Little Dawley, Telford at around 1pm on Wednesday 11th November.

Two men, who are thought to be in their early twenties and of a slim build, entered the property by forcing their way through a window and took the war medal and the Diamond Jubilee medal, which was in a dark red box, along with a black Toshiba laptop and some jewellery.

Detective Constable Toyah Cooper is leading the investigation to retrieve the property including the medals.

She said: "The two medals in particular are of a high sentimental value and we are keen to trace them and return them to their rightful owner. The medals are similar to those pictured and we ask if anyone has any information as to their whereabouts to contact us as soon as possible."

Anyone with any information is asked to get in touch with police by calling 101 and quoting the incident reference 279s of the 11th November.

Information can also be passed on anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their website: www.crimestoppers-uk.org
