Drivers face delays following incident on A5 at Shrewsbury
Motorists in Shrewsbury have faced long delays this morning following an incident on the A5.
West Mercia Police closed the A5 for a short time after a vehicle failed to stop for patrols.
Four people were arrested for various thefts over the last two days.
The incident caused big delays eastbound between the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital Roundabout and Dobbies Island.
Traffic is also reported to be heavy from the Emstrey Island towards Preston Island.
Motorists also faced slow traffic on the Hanwood Road, Roman Road, Shelton Road, Copthorne Road, The Mount, Porthill Road, Longden Road and Radbrook Road.
Collision causes delays on M54
A collision on the #M54 eastbound is also causing problems for motorists between junctions 3 and 2.
Drivers are also being warned of continuing delays during emergency repair work on the M54 after cracks were discovered in the carriageway on the same stretch of the motorway.
Apologies for delay on A5 this morning, but we have 4 in custody for various thefts over the last two days-and they didn't want to stop!1974 https://twitter.com/OPUShropshire/status/670166086931845120
