Another successful year for Ludlow Medieval Christmas Fayre
The annual Ludlow Medieval Christmas Fayre has again wowed the crowds with a hugely successful year and an even bigger than expected turn-out – despite the wet weather.

Pre-sales of tickets were considerably higher than last year and there was a great atmosphere across the weekend. Crowds were wowed and entertained over both Saturday and Sunday by fighting knights, live theatre, medieval music and dance, jesters and giant puppets.
There was also a surprise in store for Nicola Wheelhouse when her boyfriend Andy Leath proposed to her at the event. Acclaimed choir, The Quire, from South West England were on hand to serenade the romantic couple and the Fayre’s musical herald, Bill Tuck announced the engagement with a special fanfare. Bentleys of Ludlow kindly provided chilled champagne for the couple as a special surprise too.
A rather shocked but delighted Nicola said “A huge thank you and much love everyone at Ludlow Medieval Christmas Fayre who helped my very romantic fiance Andy plot and plan a perfect day for a very shocked me! Still can't believe it and have woken up on cloud 9 after a truly magical day. We couldn't be happier!”
Prue Dakin, founder of the Ludlow Medieval Christmas Fayre, said: “It was fantastic to see such big crowds enjoying the Fayre despite the wet weather. A huge thank you to everyone who visited us over the weekend and brought their festive cheer with them and massive congratulations to Andy and Nic – we’re over the moon for them both and felt very honoured to be part of their very special day!”
