Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust Chairman reappointed for 2016

The NHS Trust Development Authority (NHS TDA) has today confirmed the reappointment of Mike Ridley as Chairman of Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust.

Mike, who has chaired the organisation since it launched in 2011, will now continue in his role through 2016.

He said: “I am delighted to be able to continue to lead the Community Trust in what promises to be an interesting and challenging year. It is essential that, in a time of significant change for health and social care services both locally and nationally, the Trust continues to lead the development of high quality, safe community services, closer to people’s homes and in support of our GPs and our two acute hospitals”

As well as serving as Chairman of the Trust since 2011, Mike has more than 25 years of experience as an NHS Finance Director and is a former Chief Executive of South Worcestershire and North and South Stoke Primary Care Trusts. He retired from full time employment in the NHS in 2006.

Non-executive appointments to NHS Trusts made by the NHS TDA are subject to the Code of Practice of the Commissioner for Public Appointments.

Mike has been appointed from 1January 2016 until 31 December 2016 and is entitled to receive a remuneration of £21,105 per annum. He declared no political activity in the last five years.
