Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Inspector Rob Mountford said: "This was a vicious attack on a man, which has left him with very serious injuries. I would urge anyone who may have been in the area just before the attack, or who may have seen the men leaving the property to contact us immediately."

"We don't believe there is any risk to the local community, but there will be an increased police presence to provide reassurance to people in the area."
