Yesterday, officers appealed for the parents or guardians of the two girls seen in an Asda store to come forward.

Police were called to the store following concerns for the safety of the young girls who appeared to be walking through the supermarket by themselves at around 1am.

Detective Inspector Rob Mountford said: "The two girls have been identified and have been visited by officers. I am pleased to say they are both safe and well. We would like to thank the public for sharing our appeal."
