Police are appealing for information following an incident of animal cruelty in Whittington.

Police appeal for information following animal cruelty in Whittington

The incident took place between 1.40am and 2.20am on the 12th February at a barn in Church Lane, Whittington.

Four males are understood to have entered the barn before climbing over hay bales, some of these bales were then thrown down towards animals.

The males then entered a pen containing a lamb and chased it around, before throwing bales into another pen containing four six month old calves. The males then attempted to ride them before throwing wire meshing into the pen with them.

The owners of the animals found them in a very distressed state and the lamb is now suffering from an illness possibly caused by the stress of the incident.

Witnesses and anyone with information should call West Mercia Police in confidence on 101 quoting incident number 0172S 120216.
