Man arrested as police carry out drugs raids in Telford
Police in Telford carried out two simultaneous drugs raids at addresses in the town this morning.

Officers forced entry to addresses in the Dawley and Stirchley areas of the town shortly before 10am.
The raids were carried out at the same time as police believed the two addresses were linked.
At the Dawley address, a flat in the Portley Road area, officers discovered an established cannabis factory on the upper floor, and a number of mature plants worth in the region of £10,000 were discovered and seized.
Officers also removed a large amount of equipment associated with the production of drugs, including growing tents, plant foot and a ventilation system.
At the same time other officers broke through the door of a house in Churchway, Stirchley and recovered a quantity of cannabis in a large bag along with weighing equipment and small plastic bags ready for the drugs to be split down and packaged for sale.
Approximately £2,000 in cash was also found within the property which police suspect to be the proceeds from the prior sale of drugs from the property.
Officer in charge of the raids, PC Brassington from Malinsgate Police Station said:
“We are very grateful to our local communities for coming forward with information about the sale and growing of drugs at these two properties.”
“As a result of the information we were given, the local Magistrates have issued a warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act and that is what we have acted on this morning.”
“Local residents are completely fed up with the problems caused by drugs and the people associated with them, and the blight it causes for the area they live in.”
“Hopefully this latest raid sends out a strong message that when information regarding drugs is given to the police, we will act on it.”
She added: "A 25 year old man was arrested at the Stirchley address and is currently in custody at Telford Police Station in connection with the raids at both properties.”
