Dog owner sought after 9-year-old is bitten in Oswestry
A 9-year-old boy needed stitches after a dog he walked past bit him on the leg in Oswestry last Wednesday.
The incident happened when a mother and her 9-year-old son were walking along a pathway on Grey Friars at about 4pm on Wednesday 2nd.
A man and a woman were walking towards them with two dogs which were both on leads.
The man was walking a brown and white long haired Jack Russell-type dog, while the woman was walking a brown rough coated small dog.
As the child has walked past the duo, the Jack Russell has bitten him on the back of his leg resulting in him needing stitches.
Officers are keen to speak to the owners and are appealing to anyone who may recognise the descriptions of the dogs to get in touch.
PC Sarah McGrath said: "The boy was obviously shaken up by the incident and we would like to make contact with the owners to offer them advice on how to keep the dog under control and any steps they may need to take."
Anyone with any information should call police on 101.
