Police officers in Bridgnorth are appealing for information following an incident in which a woman had her wallet stolen.

Woman in her nineties has wallet stolen in Bridgnorth

The incident happened in Bank Street at about 10am yesterday, Thursday 10 March.

The woman, who is in her nineties, was approached by a man who asked her if she had dropped a receipt, which she had. The man handed her the receipt and as she bent to put it into her bag he leaned forward and appeared to interfere with the bag.

When the woman got home she realised that a leather wallet containing her bank cards was missing from her bag.

Officers would like to speak to the man, or anyone who saw the incident and can tell them what happened.

The man is described as being tall, medium build and in his sixties. He was wearing a long, brown overcoat and a cap.

Anyone with information is asked to call West Mercia Police on 101, quoting incident 244S of 10 March.
