Police are appealing for witnesses or information after a woman was threatened by a male dog walker in Bridgnorth on Saturday.

Woman threatened by dog walker in Bridgnorth

The incident happened at around 1pm when a 29 year-old woman was walking her dog on a field behind Pale Meadow Road (near to Severn Street) when her dog approached a man's dog. Both dogs were off their leads.

The man's dog, a white bichon frise, appeared to be scared of the victim's dog, at which point the bichon frise's owner shouted at the victim to control her dog and threatened to hurt it.

The man, who was accompanied by a woman, then took what is believed to be a baton and waved it above his head whilst verbally threatening the victim. The duo then walked off in the direction of Pale Meadow housing estate.

The offender is believed to be a white man believed to be in his fifties, of a medium build with short grey swept back hair.

The woman who was with the man is described as white, with shoulder length grey/blonde hair. It is believed she was also in her fifties and was wearing glasses.

Police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who has any information. Please call police on 101, quoting incident 377S of 12 March 2016.

Alternatively, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online via their website.
