The officers attended an address in Stirchley and forced their way in to locate the man.

They conducted an assessment of his condition and immediately commenced Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

The officers have been praised by senior paramedics at the scene for their actions in saving the man's life.

West Mercia Police say the man remains in a critical condition and their thoughts go out to him, his partner and family.

One of the officers said "The man is still very poorly, but it's good to finish a shift knowing your actions saved a man's life."
