A woman was taken to hospital suffering from slight smoke inhalation following a fire in Shrewsbury early this morning.

Firefighters, West Mercia Police and West Midlands Ambulance Service were called to the incident on Ferndale Road in Sundorne at just after 2am.

The fire involved a shed and fence which has also affected the gable end of an adjacent property.

Two fire appliances were mobilised from Shrewsbury along with an Operations Officer.
