The incident happened at around 10.30am and caused around 6,000 litres of liquid fertiliser to leak from the trailer onto the carriageway.

Four fire appliances including the Environmental Protection Unit and the Incident Support Unit were mobilised from Hodnet, Market Drayton and Tweedale.

Operations and Hazmat officers were in attendance along with the Environment Agency and the Police.

Firefighters assisted with the clean up and removal of the fertiliser.
