Clive Barracks at Tern Hill to be sold for new homes
The Ministry of Defence (MOD) today announced it is to sell Clive Barracks at Tern Hill so the land can be used for 600 new homes.

The barracks are currently home to the 1st Battalion The Royal Irish Regiment who have been based at the location since 2007.
The site is one of ten announced today as being released to contribute to the government’s target of 160,000 new homes by 2020 - with every penny generated from the disposal ploughed back into defence spending.
The disposal is part of the department’s plan to reduce by 30 per cent the size of its built estate, delivering a more efficient defence estate.
Defence Minister Mark Lancaster said:
"Every pound we make by disposing of excess land will be reinvested into a defence budget that keeps Britain safe. It will make the defence estate more efficient and better suited to the needs of our armed forces. And it will help thousands of people to own their own home.
"The defence estate currently spans one per cent of all UK land and covers 452,000 hectares. The department has committed to generating £1 billion through land sales during this parliament and contributing up to 55,000 homes."
