Police appeal for information after vehicles are damaged in Newport
Police in Newport have issued a further appeal for information after more cars have been attacked in the town.

Officers say up to a dozen more vehicles have been damaged in the last ten days with the latest attack happening on Thursday night, 7 April.
Two cars, a BMW and a Jaguar were attacked with bricks outside a house on Audley Road, leaving both with significant damage to windscreens and their bodywork.
PC Lee Thomas from the Newport Safer Neighbourhood Team said: “Over the past few weeks we have concentrated our efforts in the evenings to try and identify the persons responsible for these attacks, which appear to be happening at random across the town.
“We know some of the incidents have even happened before 9pm at night but no witnesses to the attacks have yet been in touch with police”.
“We are hopeful that by issuing a further appeal for information, anyone who may have seen something but perhaps thought that someone else will already have reported it so they needn’t bother will now come forward”.
“Since last weekend, vehicles have been attacked in Church Aston village and the Hawkstone Avenue, Sandiford Crescent, and High Street areas of Newport town, all around midnight, with one victim having vehicles attacked two nights in a row.”
PC Thomas was also keen to reassure residents that police are doing everything they can to find those responsible.
“Residents will be seeing an increase in police presence in the town during the evenings as officers form Telford are being tasked to support our team, both to try and catch the culprits but also to act as a deterrent to further attacks”.
“We know these attacks are not all the work of one person, and believe they are being carried our by members of a much larger group although it’s thought only two or three members of this group are involved at any one time.
He added “From the earlier reports a month or so ago, the descriptions we had of offenders suggested they were in their mid to late teens and we would again appeal to parents and carers to be aware of what their children may be getting up to in the evenings, especially if they are out and about late on without apparent reason.”
Anyone with information on the latest attack is asked to contact Telford Police on 101 quoting reference 113S of April 8.
