Two Telford men arrested on suspicion of attempted murder

Police were called at 11.46pm to a report of a group of men fighting in the street.

A 32-year-old man from Telford received stab wounds to his chest. He is currently in hospital where his condition is described as stable.

A 19-year-old man and a 27-year-old man, both from Telford, have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. They are currently in police custody.

Superintendent James Tozer said: "A section of Woollam Road is closed while we continue to investigate. It is likely to remain closed for some time and we would advise people to find an alternative route.

"There will be extra officers patrolling the area over the weekend to provide reassurance to the local community."

Police are continuing to search for other people involved in the disorder and are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or who has information that may help with their inquiry to contact them.
