Hospital trust named one of the top performers in the country for the fourth year running
The trust which runs Shropshire’s two acute hospitals has been named as one of the top performers in the country for the fourth year in a row.

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust (SaTH) has been named as a CHKS Top 40 Hospitals for 2016, an accolade awarded to the 40 top performing CHKS client trusts.
The Top Hospitals award is one of several awards that are part of the CHKS Top Hospitals programme.
As well as national awards for patient experience, patient safety, quality of care and data quality, CHKS celebrates excellence amongst its own clients throughout the UK.
The Top Hospitals award is based on the evaluation of over 20 indicators of clinical effectiveness, health outcomes, efficiency, patient experience and quality of care.
Simon Wright, Chief Executive at SaTH, said: “The Trust and our staff want to provide the best possible care for all of our patients all of the time. We want to be known for safe, kind and compassionate care.
“It is a great honour to have our work recognised by CHKS as one of the Top 40 Acute Trusts in the UK, and humbling that we have now won this award four years in a row.
“We know we still have more work to do to get to the place we want to be, but this award is a great reflection of the hard work, pride and commitment shown by our staff in ensuring we provide the best care possible for the our patients and their families.”
The CHKS Top Hospitals programme awards were held in London on 10 May and were attended by over 200 guests including leaders from across the healthcare sector including: NHS England, health care sector regulators, and acute Trusts.
Sarah Atkinson, Managing Director of CHKS said: “These awards recognise the outstanding performance in those areas which we believe are critical to delivering high quality care. We are delighted that The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is one of our 2016 Top Hospitals.”
