Fire crews tackle large barn fire near Craven Arms
Over 50 tonnes of hay went up in flames yesterday evening during a barn fire in south Shropshire.
The fire broke out in a barn at Heath House Heath near Craven Arms at around 7.20pm.
Eight fire appliances including the Water Carrier were mobilised from Bridgnorth, Church Stretton, Clun, Craven Arms, Ludlow and Wellington.
Crews used four main jets, supplemented from a hydrant and water bowser, and one hose reel jet to tackle the blaze.
Fire crews prevented the fire spreading to adjacent farm buildings by using defensive firefighting.
