RAF Cosford Air Show train travellers unhappy at delays due to engineering work

Rail passengers to this year’s RAF Cosford Air Show were disappointed after trains were cancelled or delayed after overnight engineering work was not finished on time.
Passengers travelling to Cosford station for the show, which this year will welcome around 60,000 visitors, faced delays as scheduled trains did not leave on time, leaving passengers waiting on platforms and trains or crammed onto trains that were running.
The problems started after engineering work on the line overran, delaying departures which had a knock on effect to later trains. This caused problems for people travelling between Shrewsbury and Cosford and from Birmingham and Wolverhampton.
Some passengers tweeted their annoyance.
@ArrivaTW Cosford airshow = huge event yet you only put 2 carriages on leading to many squashed like sardines or unable to board. Very bad. https://twitter.com/Skooks_1/status/744470638329532416

The air displays are scheduled to start at Midday with a number of exciting last minute additions to the flying programme, including the rare appearance of a United States Air Force strategic bomber, the Boeing B-52H, which will be performing a number of flypasts. Other aircraft recently confirmed also include a RAF Puma HC2 helicopter and RAF C-130J Hercules which will both be appearing at the show.
Although it will stay dry for most of the day, rain is expected to move in from 3pm onwards.
