Staff and residents of the Ludlow Foyer welcomed a visit from The Mayor of Ludlow Paul Draper this week.

Ludlow Foyer Named as Mayor’s Charity

It follows news that Ludlow Foyer has been chosen as the Lord Mayor’s charity for the next twelve months, during which a series of fundraising events will take place culminating with the Mayor’s Black Tie Event at Ludlow Assembly Rooms on Saturday 4 March 2017.

Mr Draper said: “I have long admired the work which takes place at the Foyer, helping young people establish their own independent way in life, so it was with great pleasure that I was able to make this announcement. We have lots of ideas for events and I am hoping we can raise a substantial amount of money for the organisation.

Kim Skinner, Manager of the Foyer said: “We couldn’t be more delighted to have been chosen as the Mayor’s charity. Budgetary cuts mean that funding from other sources is vital to us if we want to carry on our essential work and this news is a real boost.”

Ludlow Foyer is an accommodation, training and support project for young people, accredited by the national Foyer Federation. It is dedicated to providing a supportive environment for young people as they move towards independence in their lives.

Last year the Mayor’s charity raised £6400 for its chosen cause. This is the second time Ludlow Foyer has been selected as charity of the year, the last time in 2010.
