Swan injured and cygnet found dead in Telford
Police are appealing for witnesses or information after a cygnet was found dead and a swan badly injured in Telford.

The badly injured swan was found at Tee Lake pool last Friday and was taken to a wildlife sanctuary for treatment.
The dead cygnet was found by the side of Tee Lake pool on Tuesday. Police say it is believed that the cygnet had been deliberately injured.
It's also believed that several other cygnets and ducklings have gone missing from Tee Lake and Dothill Pool within the past week.
As native wild birds, swans have statutory protection under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 and it is an offence to intentionally injure, take or kill a wild swan. It is also an offence to take or possess the egg of a wild mute swan, or to damage or destroy the nest of a mute swan whilst in use or being built.
Extra policing patrols are taking place within the area. If anyone has witnessed any cruelty towards swans or any other wildlife, please West Mercia Police on 101, quoting incident number 0307S of 17 June 2016.
If you find an injured swan, please contact the RSPCA on 0300 1234 999. Do not approach the swan as this could lead to further injury and distress for the bird and you may injure yourself.
