Man suffers multiple injuries after being hit by train near Craven Arms

The incident happened about three miles south of Craven Arms early this morning.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “The man, who was in his 40’s, was found at the side of the railway line with multiple injuries but fully conscious. The train had not stopped.

“He was treated at the scene by ambulance staff and the doctor before being airlifted to the major trauma centre at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.

“On arrival he was thought to be in a serious but not life threatening condition.”

An ambulance, a paramedic area support officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford with a trauma doctor on board were sent to the scene.
